Overview

Shreddage 3 Legacy is a Kontakt Player library that runs on Kontakt 6.7 or higher. It features a drop-tuned 6-string guitar with a rich and aggressive sound, recorded through a DI signal. The library has a total size of 3GB, and includes over 10,000 samples covering various articulations, such as sustains, powerchords, palm mutes, staccatos, harmonics, pinch harmonics, tapping, slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, portamento, tremolo, vibrato, release noises, rakes, chokes, and more.

The library also comes with a powerful engine that allows you to customize the performance and tone of the guitar. You can adjust the fretting and voicing algorithms, the polyphonic input mode for realistic chords, the strumming tab for creating custom rhythm patterns, the tuning and capo settings, the humanization and noise parameters, and more. You can also use the built-in Console module to mix and match over 30 effects, such as amps, pedals, cabs, EQs, compressors, reverbs, delays, etc. The library also includes 45 presets that showcase different tones and styles.

Sound

Shreddage 3 Legacy sounds amazing for rock and metal genres. The guitar has a full, rich and dark tone that can cut through any mix. The samples are crisp and detailed, capturing every nuance of the playing. The articulations are expressive and realistic, allowing you to create convincing riffs and leads. The engine also gives you a lot of control over the sound and playability of the instrument. You can tweak every aspect of the performance to suit your needs and preferences. You can also shape the tone with the Console effects to get the exact sound you want.

Here are some audio demos that demonstrate the sound and versatility of Shreddage 3 Legacy:

  • Meshuggah - Bleed (Mock-up by Andrew Aversa)

  • Concrete Aquatic - Christian Yoder and Jeremy Anderson

  • Sketch Montage - Andrew Aversa

  • Forged Anew - Nabeel Ansari

  • Chords and Riffs - Matt Guillory

Conclusion

Shreddage 3 Legacy is a great virtual guitar instrument for anyone who needs a heavy rock and metal tone in their music. It offers a high-quality sample set with a wide range of articulations, a flexible and user-friendly engine with many editing features and effects, and a reasonable price tag of $119. If you already own Shreddage 1 or Classic, you can upgrade to Shreddage 3 Legacy for only $20. If you are new to the Shreddage series, you can also try out Shreddage 3 Stratus FREE, which is a stripped-down version of Shreddage 3 Stratus with fewer articulations and effects.
