Debt Management Credit Counseling

Beyond our credentials and our decades of service as a nonprofit financial counseling organization, what we offer is hope. The kind of hope that allows you to envision a bright financial future that is achievable and sustainable.

At MMI, we specialize in providing nonprofit solutions to everyday financial challenges. Our success is your prosperity. We offer a range of financial education and counseling services to tackle the most common setbacks consumers face today. Where do you need help?

Most counseling and education is provided at no cost. We have a few select low-cost services and there are fees associated with using our debt management plan. However, you may be eligible for reduced or waived fees. Ask your counselor for more details.

InCharge Debt Solutions, a leading nonprofit organization, offers free and impartial debt relief solutions to consumers struggling with credit card or other unsecured debt. If you feel overwhelmed by debt, call a certified credit counselor or get started online for a free analysis of your financial situation. You could be just minutes away from debt relief.

We work with your creditors to get you debt relief now, in the form of lower interest rates, waived credit card fees and lower credit card monthly payments. With more of your monthly payment going toward debt balance, you can dramatically lessen the time it takes to become debt free. Find out if you qualify for our debt management program.

Before filing bankruptcy, you must complete a pre-filing credit counseling session; also you must complete a Debtor Education course before your bankruptcy case is discharged (both are mandated by U.S. bankruptcy code) . InCharge offers both pre-file credit counseling and pre-discharge debtor education. Visit www.personalfinanceeducation.com.

InCharge is a HUD-certified counseling agency, and we can help you resolve your housing problems. We provide an impartial analysis of your housing situation. Our counselors can help you enroll in federal, state and local foreclosure prevention programs. InCharge Housing Counseling also offers homebuyer education, online, over the phone and in person in our Orlando office.

If you do business with a debt settlement company, you may have to put money in a special bank account managed by an independent third party. The money is yours, as is the interest the account earns.

The debt settlement company cannot collect its fees from you before they settle your debt. Generally, there are two different types of fee arrangements (a proportion of the amount of debt resolved or a percentage of the amount saved). Each time the debt settlement company successfully settles a debt with one of your creditors, the company can charge you only a portion of its full fee.

Both types of bankruptcy may discharge and get rid of unsecured debts like credit card or medical debt, and stop foreclosures, repossessions, garnishments, and utility shut-offs, as well as debt collection activities. They also give exemptions that let you keep certain assets, though how much is exempt depends on your state.

Credit counseling services provide resources to help solve your money problems. Counselors discuss your entire financial situation and help you develop a personalized plan. They can assist you with starting a budget. And they can help you find educational programs on money management.

The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) assists active-duty military with financial burdens. Under this act, you may qualify for a reduced interest rate on mortgages and credit card debts. It can offer protection from eviction. It can also delay civil court, including bankruptcy, foreclosure, or divorce proceedings. To find out if you qualify, contact your local Armed Forces Legal Assistance office.
