The plot summary of Kurbaan
The movie begins with Avantika Ahuja (Kareena Kapoor), a psychology professor living in the United States, returning to Delhi after her father falls ill. While in Delhi, she meets Ehsaan Khan (Saif Ali Khan), a university professor from Mumbai; the two become friends and fall in love. Avantika receives an invitation to return to work in the United States. Ehsaan readily agrees to emigrate for her. The couple are married and living in America.
Avantika helps Ehsaan in getting a job, and he is appointed as a professor to teach "Islam and the Modern World" at the same university. They buy a house, settle in, and are welcomed by their neighbors, Hamid (Om Puri) and Anjum (Kirron Kher). A few days later Avantika's world will be turned upside down when she finds out that their neighbors are terrorists who want to avenge the deaths of innocent Iraqi and Afghani civilians massacred by British and American forces, and that her husband is not who he claims to be.
