The premium range Hyaluronic Acid Moisture Energy Biocellulose Mask (which happens to be my favourite) has a cellulose gel-like texture and is thicker than the usual paper ones. It comes sandwiched between 2 sheets of plastic. Remove the white one first, place mask over face, then remove the blue sheet.
See, 1 mask = 2 days ? This is true for every single pack of mask that I opened, without exception! The sheer quantity of essence in there is seriously impressive. MBD, you have nothing on these, nothing!
I stocked up on MBD sheet masks when I was in Singapore in March as it was cheaper and plus I could buy certain types in packs of 3. In Malaysia, you need to purchase them in a box of 10. I have to admit I have neglected them for sometime as I find them a bit cumbersome to use. I usually do my double masking routine (clay mask followed by hydration mask) during the weekends. I will probably try to use up my sheet masks during weekdays then since I do not want them to expire. Lol.
When I think of some of my favorite sheet masks, a good majority of them hail from Taiwan. Brands like Lovemore, My Beauty Diary, and My Scheming really have figured out how to produce some of the most thin and hydration retaining masks that I love.
While instructions say to leave this mask on for 15-20 minutes, I was able to go for 30 minutes thanks to the high amount of essence in the package (and could have probably gone longer). After removal my skin felt quite hydrated and soft. Also, I noticed a brightening/skin tone evening effect that I was not expecting.
The 3 that I selected stood out to me as offering just a bit more glow, soothing, and nourishment. Plus...they happened to be the ones that offered a unique and pleasing scent which I appreciate in a sheet mask from time to time.
I wanted to try different Taiwanese brands, namely My Sheming, Dr. Wu and Neogence. My Scheming is mainly a sheet mask brand, similar to My Beauty Diary, while Dr. Wu has gained a reputation for their serums, and Neogence has a rather scientific and minimalistic approach to ingredients, a bit like cosrx.
Granted, 7 Eleven is literally the go-to for convenience and emergency needs but Taipei stores seriously surprised me as they actually sell boxes of sheet masks! They will only sell certain brands like My Beauty Diary or Dr. Morita, but if you ever feel like you lack sheet masks in your baggage and you find a 7 Eleven, chances are you can find a box or two there!
When shopping for Taiwanese beauty and skincare products, look out for ingredients that are popular with the locals: ginger, silk, pear and also snail. Facial masks and serums are especially popular in Taiwan. Happy shopping! 041b061a72
