When you first start up Lumion, a welcome screen will show you the default options and 3D camera. Then you can choose your dimension, the number of locations and the time you want your model to be ready. As you are setting up the lumion, you will be able to see the location text boxes start to fill up with their respective images, and you can drag the mouse around and move the location markers throughout your model.
Lumion comes with a lovely tour that can be found in the Help menu, and shows you the different tools that are available and a brief explanation of how they work. You have the choice of standard camera view, the Top view and the Side view. When you are in what Lumion calls the Standard view, the camera is static to the world and the model looks like a mirror image of the viewing angle.
The Second view however is called the Top view, and the camera rotates around the model. It’s basically like hovering over the model with the camera moving around it in all directions. It’s the view that is most likely to show you any issues and make it easier for you to diagnose.
When you are in the advanced renderer, you are able to create a render that is optimised for the target device. In Lumion 10.0.1 there is a Smart render that will fit the image on the screen as close to pixel for pixel as possible. This can save you a lot of time when rendering your project on a Mac, because you are not having to slowly zoom in and out to get everything and then move the image up and down the screen to get the rendering the exact size.
As mentioned earlier, the support for different cameras is thorough. You have a wide array of cameras, just choose the one that you have and when you go to Lumion 10.0.1 it will start to take the settings from your camera. d2c66b5586
