What You Need

Before you start, make sure you have the following items:

  • An R4 SDHC card for Nintendo DS/DSi/3DS. You can check the label on your card to see if it is an R4 SDHC card. It should have a website address such as or on it.

  • A micro SD card that fits into your R4 SDHC card. The size of the micro SD card depends on how many games and files you want to store on it. We recommend using a micro SD card with at least 8 GB of storage space.

  • A micro SD card reader that connects to your computer. You can use a USB adapter or a slot on your laptop if it has one.

  • A computer with internet access and a web browser.

Step 1: Download the Firmware File

The first step is to download the firmware file for your R4 SDHC card from the official website. You can use this link[^1^] to go to the download page. You will see a list of different versions of the firmware for different models of the R4 SDHC card. Make sure you choose the correct one for your card. For example, if your card has on it, you should choose the R4-SDHC option.

Once you have selected your model, you will see a list of different languages for the firmware file. Choose the language you prefer and click on the download button. You will get a zip file that contains the firmware file and some other files.

Step 2: Extract the Firmware File

The next step is to extract the firmware file from the zip file you downloaded. You can use any software that can open zip files, such as WinZip, WinRAR or 7-Zip[^2^]. Right-click on the zip file and choose Extract All or Extract Here depending on your software. You will get a folder that contains several files and folders.

The most important file is the one that has a .nds extension. This is the firmware file that you need to copy to your micro SD card. The name of the file may vary depending on your model and language, but it should look something like this: R4i-3DS V1.70b English.nds.

Step 3: Copy the Firmware File to Your Micro SD Card

The final step is to copy the firmware file to your micro SD card. First, insert your micro SD card into your micro SD card reader and connect it to your computer. Your computer should recognize it as a removable drive and assign it a letter such as E: or F:.

Next, open the folder where you extracted the firmware file and find the .nds file. Copy this file and paste it into the root directory of your micro SD card. The root directory is the main folder that appears when you open your micro SD card drive.

You can also copy any other files or folders that came with the firmware file, such as moonmemo, moonshl2 or R4iMenu, to your micro SD card if 0efd9a6b88
