Campus LCDs To Feature Sound



Ballroom A is the largest single room meeting space in the SUB. This space features two LCD projectors, a 32x12 stage that rests in an alcove in the front of the room, a pan, tilt, zoom camera system, great for live streaming, ganged lighting and house sound. There is a metal runner that goes around the room great for hanging things and the back wall is an Airwall that can be used for pinning items. The floor in this space is tile and the back wall can open up into Ballroom B, C, and/or D to create a larger space. The set-up in this room is flexible.

The Dynamic Media Lab provides software, hardware, and expert assistance to complete media projects including video and audio editing, sound recording, animation and graphics creation, and digital still photography. The room features 18 Mac Pro workstations, including an instructor workstation connected to a large display projector.


Shearouse Plaza can be reserved for cookouts, fundraisers, or other small student organization events. The plaza features a covered patio area and picnic tables with umbrellas. There is a grill that can be reserved separately for use. An outdoor sound system is also available.


Our campus features beautiful brick buildings framing ample lawn space, as well as easy pedestrian access to all facilities. During the summer, a wide variety of meeting rooms and lounge areas are available for use, including our state-of-the-art Weyerhaeuser academic building, the 1,100-seat Cowles Auditorium and classrooms that hold groups from 10 to 240. Whatever your type or size of gathering, Whitworth has first-rate venues to accommodate your needs.


Beeksma Family Theology Center: The newly remodeled Beeksma Family Theology Center hosts our campus clergy and the Seeley G. Mudd Chapel. The chapel itself has long been the center for campus worship and praise. The front of the room features a beautiful stained glass cross, and the sanctuary can comfortably seat 250-300 people. The chapel also features a state-of-the-art LCD projector and sound system, available for use upon request.


Lied Center for the Visual Arts: The Lied Center for the Visual Arts includes large, well-lit teaching studios for ceramics and sculpture, drawing, mixed media, painting and printmaking. The building features a computer graphics laboratory, two galleries, and interior view corridors, as well as exterior views to the center of campus and toward the mountains to the north.


Opened in 1998, SPC's Seminole Campus is nestled among 100 acres of beautiful pine woodlands and is adjacent to the Seminole Recreation Center. The campus features a free-standing solar energy structure and is home to:


Located in the state-of-the-art Boston University Photonics Center, the Colloquium Room features a fixed stage, built-in sound system, two projection screens, a dual built-in LCD projector, and multimedia playback capabilities. With outstanding views from large windows, this room can be customized to meet your needs for lectures, board meetings, receptions, and dinners.


Students can use the space to record to picture for film, video games, and more. The studio is wired for surround sound and features a Neve 88RS large-scale analog recording console, which offers 60 channels and automation. It also features a Steinway Model D nine-foot grand piano.


Game Live Events is using Norcent's 27" LT-2720 LCD TVs and 42" PT-4231 Plasma TVs exclusively to showcase this year's hottest video and PC games during the nationwide tour. More than 20 titles, including beta versions of new games, will be featured on a state-of-the-art, interactive 'GamePort' at college campuses across the country, allowing more than 50,000 students to view and play the new games on Norcent TVs.


Norcent's HD-ready LCD TVs deliver rich colors and sharper contrast for breathtaking, life-like action and detail. The LT-2720 offers 1280x720 maximum resolution with 600:1 contrast ratio for amazing picture quality. Component video input delivers sharp color reproduction from video sources. The model also features simulated surround sound, creating a realistic cinematic experience that's ideal for gaming enthusiasts. With its ultra-thin, lightweight design, the LT-2720 saves space and can be used in wall-mounted applications.


PT-4231 Plasma TV for a wide screen experience Norcent's PT-4231 42-inch widescreen (16:9) plasma TV delivers the visual excitement of plasma TV at an affordable price. With a screen resolution of 852 x 480 and brightness of 700 cd/m, the full-featured PT-4231 displays crisp, distinct images with true, clear colors. The PT-4231 has a built-in NTSC tuner and is compatible with major digital TV signals, including 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i. This model also offers flexible input and connectivity options, including DVI, Component, S-video and Composite, as well as D-sub for PC connectivity. Picture-in-picture (PIP) functionality lets viewers watch two video sources simultaneously. Additionally, built-in speakers provide lifelike BBE high-fidelity surround sound, further enhancing the cinematic experience.


This computer lab features iMacs and Windows PCs with video, image and sound editing software, as well as VR, AR and CAD development apps. The space also has a reserved area for 1 multifunction color copier, 1 large-format scanner and 1-large-format printer. There are 19 total computers.


Kellen Auditorium is a modern, stylish lecture space with theater-style seating for 89 people. The 1,180-square-foot room features a sound-absorptive, graphically treated rear bamboo wall and a slate-covered front wall that functions as a giant blackboard. It is used as a lecture hall and classroom and is named after Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen, longtime generous benefactors of the art community at Parsons School of Design. The Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Auditorium is located in the Sheila C. Johnson Design Center, at 66 Fifth Avenue.


The Event Café is an open-access café and performance space (not a private event space), located directly below the University Center's main lobby. and the space is best suited for informal presentations and performances. The Event Café can accommodate 52 people seated at tables, 74 people seated in rows, or 89 standing. It features a small platform stage with stage lighting, video monitor, podium, livestream capabilities, and mono stereo sound. A remarkable site-specific installation by the artist Glenn Ligon decorates the walls.


The Bernard and Irene Schwartz Commons Cafeteria can seat up to 226 people. It is set up with banquettes, counters, tables, and chairs, and also features a sound system and wireless microphones. This space functions primarily as a university dining hall. It can be booked for public events only on special occasions.


The Jordan Ballroom, named for Grace Jordan, is the largest ballroom on campus and a beautiful setting for your next large banquet or lecture. The ballroom can be divided into four separate breakout spaces for maximum flexibility. The ballroom features two projectors and screens, plus other audiovisual enhancements.


Located in one of the most iconic buildings on the MU campus, Stotler Lounge II is a unique location to hold your meeting, celebration or reception. Stotler Lounge has beautiful gothic windows that overlook the hustle and bustle of Mizzou. Stotler Lounge II features a drop down screen and a projector, built-in audio visual and elegant room features. Take time to check out this beautiful space on the Mizzou campus!


Located in one of the most iconic buildings on the MU campus, Stotler Lounge III is a unique location to hold your meeting, celebration or reception. Stotler Lounge has beautiful gothic windows that overlook the hustle and bustle of Mizzou. Stotler Lounge III features a large fireplace at the South end of the room, a drop down screen and a projector, built-in audio visual and sound system and elegant room features. Take time to check out this beautiful space on the Mizzou campus!


The Bengal Lair is a multi-purpose dining/programming space with a permanent stage, backdrop and sound system located on the first floor - North wing of the Memorial Student Union. Reservations will be limited to times when events will not interfere with heavy food service (lunch during the academic year and other special events). Groups reserving the Bengal Lair are responsible for returning table and chairs to original set-up at the completion of their event. Events hosted in the Bengal Lair must be open and accessible to the entire MU campus community. The Bengal Lair features built-in audio/visual controls. If your event requires the use of the projection screen, audio controls, microphones, etc, please work with our reservations staff so appropriate accommodations can be made.


Located in one of the most iconic buildings on the MU campus, Stotler Lounge is our largest available space and is a unique location to hold your large meeting, celebration or reception. Stotler Lounge has beautiful gothic windows that overlook the hustle and bustle of Mizzou. Stotler Lounge features large fireplaces at each end of the room, drop down screens and projectors, built-in audio visual and sound system and elegant room features. To add to the beauty is a baby grand piano which is always located within the room. Stotler Lounge also has the ability to divide into three smaller sections to meet the needs of your event or group.
